Knocked Out Tooth
If your child’s tooth (permanent tooth) has been knocked out of the mouth, find the tooth and rinse it with water (no soap), taking care to only touch the crown of the tooth (the part you can see when it’s in place). Do not brush the tooth or root. If you feel comfortable performing this, attempt to the put the tooth back into the socket and line it up with the adjacent teeth. If you do not feel comfortable, place the tooth in a cup of milk and call our emergency number.
If your child is 6 years or younger, the tooth is more than likely a baby tooth. Do not attempt to place the tooth back into the socket.
